
A major data breach has hit luxury fashion brands Gucci, Balenciaga, and Alexander McQueen. Cybercriminals have stolen sensitive information of their customers in the attack. The compromised data includes personal details such as names, email addresses, phone numbers and physical addresses. It also contains purchase history from the luxury brands across the globe. Kering, the parent company of the luxury brands, has confirmed the breach and says it disclosed the incident to the relevant data protection authorities. It said no financial information, such as card details, were stolen.The cyber criminal behind the attack calls themselves Shiny Hunters. They claim to have data linked to 7.4m unique email addresses which suggests the total number of individual victims could be similar. That’s not it, as the hackers have also got access to spending records of these users that include spendings between $1,000 to more than $80,000. When Was The Breach Identified? The data breach was first identified by Kering in June 2025. It has already been cleared by the company that none of the financial details of the users, like bank account numbers, credit card details, and more, has been compromised. Furthermore, the brand has denied spilling out the beans on the regions that have been affected by the breach. However, the company has informed all the affected customers along with notifying the authorities in different countries.
