The fraudsters, posing as fake courier agents, claimed that her friend living abroad had sent her an expensive gift. Which included a diamond ring, gold, clothes, money, and shoes. Shortly after, she received a call saying that the parcel was stuck at Mumbai airport customs and she would need to pay money in the name of customs and tax to release it. In an atmosphere of fear and threats, the woman sent lakhs of rupees through multiple transactions. Later it was discovered that this was a parcel delivery scam.
