Zomato has rolled out a new feature called ‘Healthy Mode’ on its app, founder Deepinder Goyal announced in a post on X. For now, the option is available only to users in Gurugram, but the company plans to expand it to more cities in the coming days. Health score will also be shown with every dish Deepinder Goyal wrote in the post: One thing about Zomato had been bothering me for many years. We made it very easy for people to eat out and order food at home. But we never helped people eat truly nutritious and healthy food. Yes, you could search for salads or smoothie bowls. But if you wanted nutritious or healthy food, Zomato wasn’t very helpful with that. This bothered me. Because when we say our mission is – ‘Better Food for More People’ and this ‘Better’ should mean not just taste, but health as well. Today we have taken a big step towards fixing this gap. We are launching Healthy Mode on Zomato. In this mode, every dish will have a healthy score – from Low to Super. This score is not just based on calories, but on things essential for your body. These include protein, complex carbs, fiber and micronutrients. AI and restaurant data are working behind the scenes, but you will clearly see why a dish is healthy and what’s special about it. Professional athletes can use it too This is not your ordinary ‘healthy mode’. We have set its standards so high that even professional athletes can use it with confidence. This is very personal to me. I always felt guilty that Zomato made it easy to fulfill your cravings, but not your body’s needs said Deepinder Goyal.
