The AI startup, Figure AI has introduced Figure 03, its latest humanoid robot that feels almost human in how it moves, sees, and learns. Standing at five-foot-six, this third-generation robot builds on Figure 02 with a softer design, smarter sensors, and faster reactions making it the most advanced version yet. Smarter vision, Softer touch At the heart of Figure 03 is Helix, the company’s in-house AI system that connects sight, speech, and movement teaching the robot to learn directly from people. Its new cameras now process twice as many frames per second and expand the view by 60%, giving it sharper awareness in spaces like kitchens or warehouses. Each hand comes with its own tiny camera and fingertip sensors that can feel even three grams of pressure light enough to sense a paperclip. This makes it skilled at handling fragile objects like glass or tools without dropping them. Built for homes and workplaces Figure 03 is lighter, smaller, and safer, with a 9% weight reduction and a soft mesh body wrapped in washable fabric. Its foam padding makes it safer to be around humans. The robot also features wireless foot charging, giving it five hours of operation after stepping onto a charging pad. Sound and communication have also improved it’s four times louder and responds more naturally to human voices, eliminating that robotic “tinny” sound. Business-ready performance For industries, Figure 03 means serious productivity. It can move twice as fast, lift heavier items, and handle tasks like sorting parts or packaging. Businesses can even brand their robots and connect them via 10 Gbps mmWave networks so they share data and learn together. Mass production begins Most humanoid robots are still rare prototypes, but Figure wants to change that. Its new BotQ factory can produce 12,000 robots per year, aiming for 1,00,000 by 2029 using faster, cheaper manufacturing methods like die-casting and injection molding. A glimpse into the future Featured as one of Time Magazine’s Best Innovations of 2025, Figure 03 is already folding laundry and cleaning rooms. It’s a clear sign that humanoid robots are edging closer to our daily lives even if they’re not quite ready for home use just yet.
