Oppo F31 Pro+ Review:Robust and durable with strong build quality, a perfect phone for those who want long backup

If you are thinking of buying a new smartphone in the Oppo 30 to 35 thousand range. Then Oppo has launched a new smartphone Oppo F31 Pro+ in India. As soon as the phone hit the market, it is making headlines for its strong build quality. After using the phone for a month, we have tested it and learned about its pros and cons. So, let’s find out how much this phone, with a starting price of Rs 31,999, competes with smartphones like OnePlus Nord 5, Realme 15 Pro, and iQOO Neo 10. Design: 360° Armor Body with Military Grade Certification First, let’s talk about the design. The Oppo F31 Pro+ features a 360° Armor Body, which comes with military-grade certification. We tossed it, threw it, but there were no scratches on the frame and display. For waterproofing, it has received IP69, IP68, and IP66 ratings. We tested it in the shower, but nothing happened to the phone. The company claims that it is protected from 18 types of liquids like water, tea, and coffee. The phone features an AM04 aluminum alloy frame and a diamond-cut camera ring. It comes in Gemstone Blue, Himalayan White, and Festival Pink colors. We tested the Gemstone Blue, which has a thickness of 7.7mm and weighs 195 grams. The grip is good, but it might feel a bit heavy for single-hand use. Display: 6.8-inch Full HD+ screen with 120Hz refresh rate
Talking about the display, the phone features a 6.8-inch Full HD+ display with 2800×1280 resolution. It has a screen-to-body ratio of 93.5%. The screen size is slightly larger than average, which causes minor inconvenience during single-hand use. The flat AMOLED panel screen offers a 120Hz refresh rate and 1600nits brightness. It is very smooth for scrolling, and all colors appear punchy on the display. The screen enhances all colors, making photos, videos, and graphics look attractive. Camera: 50-megapixel main OIS sensor with 10x zoom
The phone supports a dual rear camera. Its back panel features a 50-megapixel main OIS sensor with LED flash, accompanied by a 2-megapixel monochrome lens. The phone’s camera is equipped with 10x zoom and autofocus technology. Meanwhile, for selfies and video calls, it features a 32-megapixel front camera. The front camera delivers good selfies and bokeh effects in daylight. The depth effect is better than average, and AI features enhance selfies, but a 32MP sensor feels weak for a price over 30,000, as phones under 25,000 like Realme P4 Pro, Nothing Phone 3a, and Motorola Edge 60 Pro offer 50MP front cameras. The 50MP main + 2MP monochrome rear camera takes vibrant photos during the day, balancing light and shadow well. But in night photos, colors are dull and text readability is weak. The results of photos taken by zooming in with the mobile were not very good. Photos were pixelated, and even AI Boost did not work correctly here. Performance: Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 Processor with Super Cool VC System
For performance, the phone has a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, built on 4nm and offering speeds from 1.8GHz to 2.63GHz. We tested games like BGMI, COD, and Real Racing 3. Performance was decent during half an hour of gameplay, but better was expected in this price range. The Super Cool VC System and Dual Engine Fluency System help keep the phone cool during gaming. The company claims 72 months of lag-free performance. Battery: 7000mAh battery with bypass charging technology
This is the company’s first F-series smartphone, which comes with a 7000mAh battery. Streaming online YouTube videos for 30 minutes reduced the battery by only 2%. The smartphone supports bypass charging technology, which supplies power directly to the device instead of the battery during heavy performance or gaming, preventing the phone from heating up. Oppo claims to provide 5 years of battery health in its smartphones. Oppo F31 Pro Plus is equipped with 80W SuperVOOC fast charging technology. In testing, it took 57 minutes to fully charge the phone from 20% to 100%. The mobile also supports reverse charging, allowing you to charge earbuds or smartwatches. Final Verdict
Overall, the Oppo F31 Pro+ is good for its robust design and powerful battery. If you use it roughly or want long backup, it will be fine. However, in gaming and camera, it falls a bit short at this price. Phones like Realme 15 Pro, OnePlus Nord 5, and Poco F7 offer better processors and performance. Its 8GB RAM variant is priced at Rs 32,999 and the 12GB RAM variant is priced at Rs 34,999. Decide according to your needs.
